Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the difference between hard wax and soft wax?
Hard wax (like our Blonde Mocha and Cocoplum) is applied directly to the skin, hardens as it cools, and is peeled off without strips. It’s ideal for sensitive areas like the bikini line, underarms, and face because it grips hair without pulling on the skin. Soft wax (like our Honey, Rose Cream, and Zinc Oxide formulas) is applied in a thin layer and removed with a muslin or non-woven strip. It’s best for covering larger areas like legs, arms, back, and chest quickly and efficiently.
Which wax is best for sensitive skin?
All of our waxes are formulated to be gentle on sensitive skin. For the most sensitive areas or reactive skin, we recommend our Blonde Mocha Hard Wax (contains titanium dioxide for extra skin protection) or our Zinc Oxide Soft Wax (the zinc oxide acts as a natural calming buffer between the wax and your skin). Both are excellent choices for clients prone to redness or irritation.
Which wax should I use for a Brazilian?
For Brazilians, we recommend hard wax — either Blonde Mocha or Cocoplum. Hard wax is the professional standard for intimate waxing because it shrink-wraps around each hair and lifts it from the root without sticking to the skin. It’s more comfortable for the client and gives cleaner results in sensitive areas.
Which wax is best for coarse or thick hair?
Our Rose Cream Soft Wax is specifically formulated for normal to coarse hair. Its dense, creamy consistency provides a firm grip on thicker, more stubborn hair. For hard wax on coarse hair, Blonde Mocha is your best bet — it’s a medium-density formula designed to handle coarse and short hairs effectively.
Can I use Waxxmii Wax at home, or is it only for professionals?
Both! Our waxes are professional-grade, meaning they’re the same quality you’d find in a licensed esthetician’s studio. But they’re also designed to be easy to use at home. If you’re new to waxing, we recommend starting with our hard wax (Blonde Mocha or Cocoplum) since it’s more forgiving for beginners — no strips needed, and the application is straightforward.
How do I use hard wax beads?
Heat the wax beads in a wax warmer until they reach a honey-like consistency. Always test the temperature on the inside of your wrist before applying. Spread a thin layer onto the skin in the direction of hair growth, allow it to harden for a few seconds, then peel it off in the opposite direction. No strips required.
How do I use soft wax?
Heat the soft wax in a wax warmer until it’s smooth and spreadable. Apply a thin, even layer in the direction of hair growth using a spatula or applicator. Press a muslin or non-woven strip firmly over the wax, then pull it off quickly in the opposite direction of hair growth. Strips are required for all soft wax products.
